Agriculture optional in UPSC/IAS Mains exams is one of the best optional subjects in present days. Since 2014 questions are quite simple and it became scoring subjects. Earlier even agri students also did not like take agriculture optional But recent years maximum students who are choosing agriculture optional are non-agriculture students. Mostly they are engineers with mechanical, civil, chemical, computer or others and botany, B. pharma etc. Most of the students believe paper I is ok but paper II needed efforts but the reality is different. Paper I is easy in term of questions but not that much scoring as paper II. Carefully understand and choose Agriculture Optional ”.


Exam Pattern:

Paper I : 250 marks (2 section A and B) total 5 Qs Attempt needed.

Paper II : 250 marks (2 section A and B) total 5 Qs Attempt needed.

PaperI : Agronomy, Soil Sc, Dryland, Climate change, Weed management.
