​About ICAR’s JRF PG (MSc) Entrance Exam:
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF Exam) (also called All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA-PG) is an examination conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) through which a student passed B.Sc. (in Agriculture or any allied subjects like Fishery, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Horticulture, Forestry and any others ) can get admission in different top most agricultural universities to pursue their master degrees on more than 91 subjects and get fellowship of approx. 10, 000 per month (including contingency provided, data 2015-16). Through this exam ICAR fulfil 25% (tentative) seats in master degree programme of agricultural universities and 100% seats of ICAR deemed universities like IARI (New Delhi), NDRI (Kernal), IVRI (Izzatnagar), CIFE (Mumbai) and award with ICAR-JRF (PGS) in agri and allied science subjects for every academic year.

Major Subject Groups for ICAR’s JRF Exams
A students passed/studying B.Sc. (in Agriculture or any allied subjects like Fishery, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Horticulture, Forestry and any others ) can  write ICAR’s JRF Exam and thus can pursue their master degrees on following 91 subjects which is classified here 20 major subject-groups. These Major Subject Group for ICAR’s JRF Exam are:

          Student should select one major subject-group among the following for appearing in JRF Exam. Based on his/her rank on subject group exam, he will be awarded fellowship and he will get opportunity to take admission in top most agricultural university.

Eligibility requirements:
Age and Nationality:Indian Nationals having age not below 19 years as on examination date are eligible to sit in the JRF examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.

Qualifying Examination:
Student must have passed (or due to appear at the final examination) their Bachelor degree in the Agriculture and allied subjects under 10+2+5, 10+2+4 years degree programmes may apply for this exam.
Very few options are also available for candidates having passed Bachelor degree with 10+2+3 year degree programme.
Student must have passed Bachelor degree examination securing Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of
for General, OBC and UPS categories:
   at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale
   at least 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale
   at least 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale
for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates :
   at least 5.60/10.00 in ten-point scale
   at least 2.75/5.00 in five-point scale
   at least 2.20/4.00 in four-point scale
In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories,
whereas for SC/ST/PH categories the requirement is 50% marks.
